How Inbox Penny works, and what to do when it doesn’t

Exports and the weekly report email

CSV of your campaigns, and a summary in your inbox each week.

Two exports, both CSV: one campaign in detail, or every campaign in a date range with a row each. Both respect the range you’ve chosen on screen.

One campaign

From a campaign report, Export CSV gives you its headline metrics as metric/value rows, plus a table of every link with its clicks.

Useful for pasting a summary into a document, and for keeping a record of a campaign before archiving it.

Every campaign in a range

From Analytics, the export gives one row per campaign: name, when it sent, recipients, delivered, opens, clicks, bounces, unsubscribes and complaints.

This is the one to use for real analysis — a pivot table over a year of campaigns answers questions no built-in view will, like whether your Tuesday sends genuinely beat your Thursday ones once volume is accounted for.

Set the date range first

The export follows what’s on screen, so widen the range before downloading if you want the whole year.

The weekly summary email

Every Monday morning, account owners get a short summary of the previous seven days — campaigns sent, click rate, and your best performers, with a link into Analytics for the detail.

Three things decide whether it arrives:

  • You sent something that week. A quiet week produces no email rather than a report full of zeros.
  • You’re an owner. Members don’t receive it — it’s an account summary rather than a work update.
  • The setting is on. It is by default; owners can turn it off in Settings.

Click-first, like the rest of the reports

It leads with clicks rather than opens, for the reason described in why open rates are unreliable. A summary headlining an inflated number would be worse than no summary.

Opening them

Files are UTF-8 and marked as such, so accented names and emoji survive in Excel on a normal open. If you pull one in through a text-import wizard instead, choose UTF-8 there.

Common issues

The export is missing recent campaigns

Check the date range on the page — the export follows it.

Automations aren't included

They’re kept out of campaign analytics on purpose, since one flow sending for months would distort every average. Their own tab rolls them up.

I want per-recipient data

Not available as an export. The top-clickers list on a report is the closest thing, and an engagement segment is usually what someone actually wants — it stays current, where a spreadsheet doesn’t.

FAQs

How do I stop the weekly email?+

Turn it off in Settings — owners only, and it applies to the whole account rather than to one person.

I didn't get a weekly email+

Most likely your account sent nothing that week, which produces no report. Otherwise check that you’re an owner rather than a member, and that the setting hasn’t been turned off.

Can I get exports through the API?+

Not yet — the API covers contacts and lists, and has no read endpoints. CSV is the way out today.
