How Inbox Penny works, and what to do when it doesn’t

How pricing works

Pay for the email you send. No plan, no monthly fee, no expiry.

There are no plans. You load credit, and each email you send draws it down. The current rate, what a top-up buys and your balance are all on Billing — live, so they’re never out of date the way a help page would be.

The model

  • No monthly fee. A month you don’t send costs nothing.
  • No plan to outgrow. Every feature is included at every size — the AI, the full analytics suite, automations, forms.
  • No per-seat charge. Invite your whole team.
  • Credit never expires. Send quarterly if that suits your business.

It suits infrequent senders especially. A subscription charges a realtor mailing quarterly for twelve months of access they didn’t use.

What you're charged for

Emails that go out. Contacts you store, lists, segments, forms, automations you build and campaigns you draft are all free — only sending costs.

Sending is charged pro-rata rather than rounded up to a package, so a campaign to an odd number of people costs what it costs. There is a small per-campaign minimum — shown on Billing — which is what makes small accounts worth serving properly.

Automation and welcome emails have no minimum

They go out one at a time, so a per-campaign minimum would apply to every single message. They’re charged at the plain rate.

The free emails you start with

New accounts get a batch of free emails so you can send something real before paying anything. No card needed and no countdown — they’re there until you use them.

They’re an allowance rather than credit, so your balance stays at zero while you use them. That’s deliberate: showing money you can’t withdraw or top up from would be dishonest.

Adding credit

Pay by card on Billing. Payment happens on the payment provider’s own page — card details never touch us — and your balance updates as soon as it clears.

There’s a minimum top-up, because card fees make very small payments mostly fee. Top-ups are in whole pounds or dollars.

Common issues

A send was refused for lack of credit

We check the balance up front and refuse rather than sending to half your list. Top up and send again — nothing was lost.

Charged more than the emails should cost

Probably the per-campaign minimum on a small send. It’s shown on Billing and on your statement.

My balance says zero but I can still send

You’re on your free starting emails, which sit outside the balance.

FAQs

Do I pay for contacts I store?+

No. Store as many as you like — a hundred thousand contacts you never email cost nothing. That’s the biggest difference from per-contact pricing.

Does credit expire?+

No, and that’s a deliberate commitment rather than an oversight. The infrequent sender is exactly who pay-as-you-go is built for, so an expiry would punish the people it was designed to suit.

Is the AI extra?+

No — it’s included on every account. So is the full analytics suite, which most platforms reserve for a top tier.
