How Inbox Penny works, and what to do when it doesn’t

Your balance, statement and refunds

Every movement of credit, and when it comes back.

Billing shows your balance, how many emails it buys, and a statement of every movement. Nothing changes your balance without a line on it.

Reading the statement

LineWhat it is
Credit addedA top-up you paid for
Campaign sendOne line per campaign, charged when it starts
RefundMoney returned to your card
AdjustmentA correction we made, with a note
Free trialYour starting emails being used

A campaign is charged as one line when it starts, not per recipient, so the statement reads as a list of things you did rather than thousands of entries.

You're refunded for anything that didn't send

A campaign is charged for what it queues. If some of it doesn’t go out — you cancelled, or we stopped the send — the difference returns to your balance automatically.

Especially when we stop a send

If bounce or complaint rates cross a safe threshold, sending halts partway. That’s our decision, made to protect you, so charging for mail we chose not to deliver would be indefensible. The unsent portion comes back.

The refund is at the plain per-email rate with no minimum applied, so a partial refund can’t quietly claw part of itself back.

Receipts

Card payments produce a receipt by email from the payment provider, showing the amount and how many emails it bought. Your statement here is the running record.

If a receipt doesn’t arrive, check spam and then get in touch — receipts depend on a setting on the payment side, so a missing one is worth reporting rather than working around.

Common issues

I paid but my balance hasn't moved

Credit lands when the payment clears, which is normally seconds but can be longer for some methods. The page says so rather than claiming the money has arrived. If it’s still missing after a few minutes, get in touch with the date and amount.

A campaign cost more than I expected

Check for the per-campaign minimum on a small send, and check the recipient count — targeting two lists that overlap counts each person once, but targeting a broad segment may reach more than you pictured.

I want a refund of unused credit

Get in touch. Unused credit doesn’t expire, so there’s no deadline pressure on deciding.

FAQs

Can my balance go negative?+

Not through sending — a send that can’t be paid for is refused up front. It can go negative if a card payment is reversed after the credit was spent, which is rare.

Do you keep my card on file?+

Card details never reach us at all — payment happens on the provider’s own page. There’s no auto-recharge yet, so you top up when you choose to.

Can I get an invoice for accounting?+

The emailed receipt is the document today. Formal invoices are a known gap — ask if you need one for a specific payment.
