A tour of Inbox Penny
What lives where, and which page you actually want.
Four areas, and most work happens in two of them. This is a map rather than a manual — each entry links to the page and, where there is one, the article that explains it.
Audience — who you send to
| Page | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Contacts | Everyone you hold. Search, filter, bulk edit, import |
| Lists | Groups you fill yourself — and where welcome emails live |
| Segments | Groups that fill themselves from rules |
| Forms | Signup forms people can fill in themselves |
| Attributes | Your own custom fields |
Campaigns — what you send
| Page | What it’s for |
|---|---|
| Campaigns | One-off sends — a newsletter, an announcement |
| Automations | Email that sends itself when something happens |
| Templates | Designs to start from, including fifty built in |
| Media library | Your images, hosted for you |

Where to start
If you’re new, follow Send your first campaign — it walks the whole path in order, including the two steps people skip and then get refused on.
If you’re moving from another platform, start with Moving from another platform instead.
FAQs
What's the difference between a campaign and an automation?+
A campaign is one send to a chosen audience at a chosen time. An automation sends on its own when something happens to a person, for as long as it’s switched on.
Where do I change my sending address?+
Settings. You need one before any campaign can go out.
