Folders, duplicating and archiving
Keeping a long campaign list usable.
After a year of sending, Campaigns gets long. Three tools keep it usable.
Folders
One level, and purely organisational — a campaign’s folder changes nothing about how it sends. Set one when creating a campaign, move it later from its card, or create a folder by typing a new name while moving.
Filter the list by folder from the dropdown. Folders with nothing in them disappear on their own; there’s nothing to clean up.
Duplicating
Duplicate on a sent campaign copies the content, subject, sender details, design and folder, and re-targets the same lists and segments — as a fresh draft.
What it deliberately doesn’t copy:
- Recipients and results — it’s a new campaign.
- The schedule.
- Its approval. A copy is checked on its own merits, so duplicating can’t be used to inherit an approval and skip screening.
This is the normal way to run a recurring newsletter: duplicate last month’s, rewrite the content, send.
Archiving
Archiving hides a campaign from the list — it appears only under Archived. Nothing else changes: the report still works, tracking still records, and every link in the delivered email still functions.
It’s the right tool for anything you’ve finished with.
Why you can't delete a sent campaign
The unsubscribe links depend on it
Each recipient’s unsubscribe link is tied to their record on that campaign. Those emails sit in inboxes indefinitely, and the link has to keep working — that’s a legal requirement, not a nicety.
Deleting would also erase the bounce and complaint history your account’s health is measured from, which would make deletion a way to erase a sending problem. Archive instead.
Drafts that never sent can be deleted freely.
Common issues
Delete is refused
The campaign has sent. Archive it.
A campaign vanished from the list
Check the Archived tab and the folder filter — the other tabs exclude archived campaigns on purpose.
The duplicate is asking to be reviewed again
Expected. Approvals don’t transfer to copies.
FAQs
Can I nest folders?+
One level only. Deep hierarchies tend to make things harder to find rather than easier.
Does archiving affect analytics?+
No — archived campaigns still count in your account totals and keep their reports. It’s a view filter, nothing more.
